1928 NSW AAGPS Head of the River
Shore broke Sydney High's winning streak with 3/4 length win over Grammar, with High a further half length behind followed by King's a few feet further behind. Shore led all the way but each of the other three crews in the final through out challenges over the last few hundred yards.
It was Shore's first win since 1916 and was noted by those at the time as the best school crew since eights competed in this competition. The crew was coached by L C Robson.
Shore also won all three events, the first eights and first and second fours.
