1988 QLD GPS Head of the River
The 1988 Head of the River was conducted on Saturday 19th March 1988 at Lake Wivenhoe, Queensland.
In 1988 it was decided by the GPS Headmasters that the Old Boys Cup was included in an introduced aggregrate points system to decide the Rowing Premiership. Whereas the GPS Premiership had previously been decided on the outcome of the first crew race (the O’Connor Cup) it would now be decided on an aggregate of points from an agreed set of races. Initially, with six schools in the competition, 7 points were awarded for a win then 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, for 2nd to 6th places. In 1988 there were 15 races on the program so a possible 105 points were available.

Daniel A. Morris, the four seat in the 1988 Anglican Church Grammar First VIII, represented the winning Queensland crew in the 1991 Noel F. Wilkinson Youth Eight Trophy. Morris also represented Queensland at the 1990 Australian Rowing Championships in the Junior Pair and Junior Coxed Four.
