2000 APS Head of the River
The Geelong Schools again showed their strength this year with Geelong College taking the boy's Head of the River and Geelong Grammar returning to the podium in the girl's Head of the River. The honours in the girl's races were again shared amongst the Geelong schools.
In an ominous sign for the boy's schools, Scotch College started building the lower ranks and for the first time, boating more than one crew in the 4th eights and winning both the third and fourth eights.
This was to be the last Heads of the River to be conducted on the Barwon River with the regatta moving to the Nagambie Lakes course in 2001.
