History of the Victorian APS Head of the River rowing regatta

1942 Head of the River

World War II was now impacting society markedly with petrol rationing and brownouts in place. The Headmasters agreed that the format for the seventy-fifth Head of the River needed change as a result of the government restrictions on crowds. There was to be a series of races amongst the crews and limitations on training. The same rules applied to the other non first crews. The races were conducted between 11th and 24th April.

After the completion of this racing, the Headmasters awarded the seventy-fifth Head of the River to Wesley College.
