1983 South Australian Schools' Head of the River
Saturday, 9 April – West Lakes:
The 1983 SA Head of the River featured the following events:
- Boys First Eight
- Boys Second Eight
- Boys & Girls First Four
- Girls Second Four
- Boys & Girls Lightweight Four
- Boys Under 16 Four
- Boys & Girls Under 15 Four
- Boys Under 14 Four
Pembroke School won their first Boys Head of the River since 1967, with a 1¼ length win over Christian Brothers College. Pembroke also won the Lightweight Four and Under 15 Four (B). In the Girls Head of the River, Pembroke won the First Four for the second-straight year. Also, Scotch College won the Second and Lightweight Four, with Unley High School winning the Girls Under 15 Fours.
