1905-1906 Rowing Victoria State Championships

The Victorian Rowing Association Premiership rested on the Champion Eight result. The race was a magnificent one and regarded as one of the most desperately contested champion races that had been seen. It was fought out neck and neck the whole distance and won by a slimmest of margins.

This event was held on the 14^th October, 1905, and for the fifth time in succession was won by Percy C Ivens, of the Mercantile Club.

Held on the Lower Yarra on March 24^th, 1906, Albert Park, Mercantile, and Yarra Yarra Clubs competing. Albert Park winning by a canvas from the Mercantile Club, after one of the most exciting contests ever held on the Yarra; the Yarra Yarra crew being 6 lengths away, third.
