2013 Australian Junior Women's Pair

Victorious Women's Pair

Two school pathway eights were selected - a men's and women's eight. This was a fresh approach to identify and recruit talented athletes who were still enrolled at school. These eights comprosed a composite crew and one made up from one school. The Scotch College crew from Melbourne trialed and gained selection as the men's eight and a composite crew froom a mix of schools in Victoria were successful in selection as the women's eight.

As some crews came from different States, a healthy balance of home and crew based training was used to enable rowers to continue their educational or vocational training whilst actively pursuing an international rowing career.

The team made use of the AIS European Training Centre and the Gavirate Rowing Club in Varese which was a key ingredient in the prepartion for the Championships.
