This was a disappointing regatta for Adair Ferguson. Following selection, she suffered a training accident on her bicycle leaving her with a fracture. She maintained a high level of fitness for the six weeks out of the boat and was pronounced fit seven days prior to departure. Despite this magnificant recovery and inspiring determination and to the great disappointment of Adair and her coach, she had to withdraw due to a severe upper respiratory infection on the heat day.
