2014 World Under 23 World Championships– Varese Italy

2014 Varese World Under 23 Championships

The Australian team peformed well taking home four minor medals. The lack of a gold medal left them well down the medal rankings. Six of the nine crews made the final, the selection qualification.

A selection of images from Michael Sim, one of the parents of a team member, is available on the Australian Rowing Images website.

The selection of US based athletes was a critical part of this team. Rowing Australia's talent pathway extends to based athletes who are part of the US based college programs. The men's eight was compirsed entirely of these athletes and four of the women's eight were also US based athletes.
