1999 IGSSA Head of the River
This regatta was conducted on the Canning Bridge course.
Of note this year was Sarah Outhwaite rowing bow in the winning St Hilda's first crew. Sarah went on to be one of the greatest Australian rowers, competing in three Olympic Games and taking silver at the London Olympic Games. She was World Champion in the eight and was a frequent visitor to the podium with numerous other World Championship medals in both under age and Senior Competition. Whilst she lived in Melbourne for the latter part of her rowing career, she always cherished racing for Western Australia in the Queen's Cup.
