The Victorian crew came back this year to make amends on the loss of the previous year. Victoria, NSW and Tasmania led early for the first half mile. Victoria then made its move taking a length over Tasmania by the mile mark. Queensland then passed NSW and the positions remained unchanged thereafter. The margins were significant being 3 1/2 and 2 1/2 lengths. The Queensland crew was an all one club affair from Wide Bay Rowing Club. This crew had won the Queensland title by three lengths from the fancied Commercial crew.

4th WA - Jack Hill

The sculling race was uneventful with Ivens leading from the start to finish 3 lengths in front.
