2024 Australian Coastal Rowing and Beach Sprint Championships
The third Australian Coastal Rowing and Beach Sprints Championships were held at Mooloolaba Beach on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland from 15-18 August 2024. Being a surf beach, it lived up to expectations being too rough for coastal rowing and these events were abandoned. However the condition improved for the final two days and the beach sprints were undertaken.
To add to the interest of the regatta, a large pleasure craft lost power and finally got stranded on the beach sprint course. After moving the course to enable racing to continue, as the tide rose, the craft drifted onto the new course. No one was amused.
The regatta also incorporated the Oceania Championships. It was not a national selection event.
