Goodbye to Chris Wade
Over my years in the club I have known many enthusiastic and loyal members, however in regard to overall contributions, few members in my time have equalled the efforts of Christopher Wade. Since joining the club some 8 years ago, Chris has held the official positions as Vice-Captain, Treasurer, and committee member as well as a number of unofficial positions. Chris has organised social functions, coached at all levels, rowed at all levels, organised trailers, repaired boats and oars, organised those awful circuit training’s and has been the major entertainment on the dance floor at numerous social functions. Unfortunately for the club, Chris is moving to England and we won’t have his happy outgoing attributes around the club for the next few years. Chris is not the ideal build for an oarsperson, however that has never affected his enthusiasm. Chris has the heart of a champion and most of the other attributes as well. I am sure the club will miss Chris in the future and we are all wish him well in his new stage of his life although we hope he to see him back at Yarra before too long.
