N Stooke

Mercantile Rowing Club (VIC)

Mr Stooke was a life member of Mercantile Rowing Club and one of the early members of the Club. Sadly little is known of him.

He was an active rower, racing in many club races and being a member of the 1889 maiden eight which won at the Upper Yarra Regatta.

Stooke also served on the Committee in at least one year, 1888.

There were other rowers at Mercantile with the same surname in the early years of the Club and so are probably related.
