Michael Smith
Drummoyne Rowing Club (NSW) and Sydney Rowing Club (NSW)
Michael is a lifetime rower enjoying the sport from all angles - from an elite lightweight rower, to team manager, selector, coach and administrator.
The journey started as a rower in 1975 and it took until 1995 before his rowing career ended. During that time he was very successful.
- Australian Representative at World Rowing Championships Bled, Yugoslavia 1979 (LM8+, 6th) and Hazewinkel, Belgium 1980 (LM1x, 11th)
- Won 3 Australian Titles in ML4-, ML1x, ML2-
- Penrith Cup Winner in 1980 and 1992
- New South Wales Representative in 1980, 1981, 1982, 1992, 1993, 1995
- Won 39 NSW Championship Titles in all Classes on Boats

His attention then turned to team management for both NSW and Australia.
