Hamish T Playfair

Sydney University Boat Club (NSW) then UTS Haberfield Rowing Club (NSW)

Hamish was a highly accomplished and well respected rower and sculler.

Learning to win came early in his rowing career at school at Shore in Sydney where he stroked the winning second crew to victory in 2008 and rowed seven in the school's winning first crew in 2009.

Sydney University Boat Club beckoned and an excellent first National Championships at Nagambie ensured taking home two gold. These included the Under 23 eight which he won again in 2012 and 2013.

His first international racing was World Cup III in 2013 in the Men’s quad scull finishing fourteenth. After that he raced at the U23 World Championships finishing ninth.

In 2017 he moved clubs to UTS Haberfield and gained two more national titles in the senior men’s double and quad. Winning his first King’s Cup in 2017 and adding two more wins in 2018/2019.
