Carl F Peppler

Essendon Rowing Club then Yarra Yarra Rowing Club (VIC)

Member 1929/30 - 1940/41

Peppler commenced his rowing with Essendon Rowing Club winning a Maiden eight at Nagambie. 

On joining the Victorian Police Force in 1929, he took up sculling and also joined Yarra Yarra Rowing Club. He had a long series of success thereafter doing very well in the handicap care the Herald Shield and also enjoying the 1/4 mile sprint races. 

He unsuccessfully represented Victoria as the State sculler at three Interstate Championships, 1932, 1934 and 1935.

1930 - Ballarat regatta, maiden sculls

20/7/1929 - Herald shield, handicap sculls

10/8/192 - Herald shield, handicap sculls

14/9/1929 - Herald shield, handicap sculls

Five years of his achievements52 races- won 27 – 1 dead heat – 14 2nds – 6 3rds, started sculling with George Towns (ex -world champion)

4th in a field of 20 top N S W scullers – 15 mile race.
