Michael Oakley

Michael (Mick) Oakley died in late November 2009. Mick was a successful oarsman who trained with his brothers, Anthony and Walter under their father Gus Oakley, a retired veteran of World War 11 who was severely injured during that campaign.

Mick was a successful lightweight oarsman both in Victoria and when he transferred to the Mersey Club in Tasmania. In addition, Mick was an accomplished musician who performed with a number of bands as well as being an experienced music teacher.
