Frederick Moor appears to have been quite a sportsman. Newspaper reports in 1892 show that he both rowed and sculled successfully1

Despite finishing his intercolonial career in 1894, he continued to race until at least 19003

Not only an excellent oarsman, Moor also a proficient cyclist. He undertook road racing at the same time as he was rowing with newspaper reports in 1889 providing his results. The Sydney Morning Herald also reported that just for the pleasure of it, he and his friends Messrs W & F J Ives cycled to Melbourne from Sydney. In those days the road was not easy to navigate but they obviously enjoyed the adventure and hospitality received along the way4.
