Wilfred Armstrong Maxwell

South Melbourne Rowing Club (VIC) now Albert Park South Melbourne Rowing Club (VIC)

Maxwell was South Melbourne Rowing Club member who served in WWI. There is no record of him winning any races prior to WWI.

He was a 25 year old, single warehouseman from Richardson Street Albert Park when he enlisted. He was also short, standing only 5 feet 3.5 inches tall.

He served in the 7th Field Ambulance in France and only suffered scabies and a severe scolding of the left arm which led to him being transferred to England. He survived the war.
