Robert (Bob) Lyndon

Bundaberg Rowing Club, then Cairns Rowing Club and finally Toowong Rowing Club (QLD)

The 1964 RA Annual Report noted the passing of Bob Lyndon in these terms.

Bob Lyndon gave a lifetime of service to rowing in Queensland and was the only member of that State holding a F.I.S.A. Judge/Umpire's Licence. Bob's last official rowing duties were to officiate at the Empire Games in Perth recently, unfortunately he was not able to see the last King's Cup in his home State in Brisbane but on that occasion oarsmen from throughout Australia visited Bob in hospital.

Jack Pritchard in his book Rowing in Queensland provided the following tribute to Bob.

Bob Lyndon, an Honorary Life Member of the Q.A.R.C., passed away shortly before the A.G.M.. Bob had been Chairman of the Brisbane D.R.A. for many years, manager of Queensland King's Cup crews and a boat race official at the Empire Games and the Olympic Games, and a great worker for the sport. He had competed for Bundaberg, Cairns and Toowong clubs during his rowing career and would be sorely missed in many centres.

Known rowing record:

1924 - Queensland Champion Men's Eight, two seat - First

1927 - Inter-district Eights, two seat - First
