Part of the opening address by the YYRC president:-

Ed Kinch and Rob Case who formed the backbone of the working party. Who stood up for inclusion in the working party when asked to, and have persisted through the project until the end.

Ed has been a regular competitor over the years both as a weep oar and in sculling. He has won many races including state titles.

Life membership: Ed Kinch

At this year’s AGM, Ed Kinch was nominated and unambitiously voted to receive life membership for his services to YYRC. Ed joined Yarra in the 1988/89 season (around the same time as Stuart Critchell and Jack Chatziyakoumis), and remains an active and very successful competitive member of the club to this day.

As well as his successful endeavours on the water, Ed was also involved with the committee who oversaw the building of the new boathouse, which he credits as being one of his proudest achievements with the club.

We thank Ed for his service to the club, wish him the best and look forward to seeing him back on the water just as soon as he is able.
