Geoff Hyett

Mercantile Rowing Club (VIC)

The following obituary appeared in the Mercantile 1983-84 annual report.

Geoff Hyett was one of those members of the Club who was seldom seen, but always interested in the Club's activities and success.

He joined the Club in 1945 following in the footsteps of his father Fred Hyett. His son Tony also rowed with the Club for some years making three generations of membership.

Geoff's rowing career was successful, but brief. Nevertheless he maintained his full active membership and subscribed generously to all Club appeals.

Andrew Guerin developed and extended these histories to the current format in 2004 for publication in 2004 and then expanded the site.
