In addition to the matters mentioned above, he is a hard working umpire. He has umpired at the highest levels and continues at Queensland regattas to this day.
Peter is one of the great servants of the sport - passionate, hard working, athlete first, caring, humble and uncompromising when required, to name just a few of his qualities and principles. When asked what he would regard as some of his achievements, he mentions with leaving his time as Treasurer of Queensland Rowing is a far sounder position than when he took over and assisting team members in his under age teams with their seat fees. It is your correspondent's experience that he pushed local rowing authorities into action to fund raise for them. Both these achievements fly under the radar for most in the rowing community but are significant matters. He does the things that are important for the sport, rather than those with a higher profile. Finding photos of Peter has been difficult.
He is one of the strongest threads in the fabric of the sport.
