Caitlin Fraser

Bendigo Rowing Club and Melbourne University Boat Club (VIC)

Alongside sister Deirdre, Caitlin learnt her rowing at the Bendigo Rowing Club where they excelled in the pairs. Their original coach was Fred Hillman, who taught them to row and guided them to wins at Dimboola, Horsham and Nagambie in a novice four.

After being a member of the composite under 23 Four at the 1990 National Championships which finished second, she was talent spotted for the AIS junior program. She led all before her in the under 19 program in 1991 winning both the pair and four, and then being selected in the Australian under 19 team.

Sadly, this was to be her last Australian team representation despite a decade of successfully racing at the senior and elite level. Caitlin did enjoy several Interstate and National Championship wins at the senior level demonstrating her great skill and enjoyment of the sport.

Caitlin did not finish her athletic achievements on the water. She moved to cycling where she raced with distinction.
