Milton A Francis

West Australian Rowing Club (WA), then Yarra Yarra Rowing Club (VIC)

Milton Francis was a prolific WA interstate rower who senior career spanned over a decade taking in two wins.

Following his superb senior career, Milton moved to Melbourne and continued his interest in the sport with the Yarra Yarra Rowing Club from 1966/67 to 1969/70. He served on their Committee in 1967/68 & 1968/69. He also rowed in some of their successful masters crews.

1955 – Interstate Men’s Eight Championship five seat – First

1956 – Interstate Men’s Eight Championship five seat – Fourth

1958 – Interstate Men’s Eight Championship three seat – Second

1959 – Interstate Men’s Eight Championship bow - Third

1960 – Interstate Men’s Eight Championship bow - First

1960 – Olympic Games – Men’s Eight bow seat - eliminated in repechage

1962 – Interstate Men’s Eight Championship bow - Second

1963 - Interstate Men’s Eight Championship bow - Third

1964 – Interstate Men’s Eight Championship bow - Third

1965 – Interstate Men’s Eight Championship bow - Third

1968 - Head of the Yarra, veteran eight, five set - First

1969 - University’s regatta, veteran eight, five seat - First
