Angus H Foster

Lake Colac Rowing Club (VIC), then Yarra Yarra Rowing Club (VIC), then Wentworth Rowing Club (NSW)

Angus was a Lake Colac member from 1879 then joined Yarra Yarra, being a member from 1888 to 1890. He raced successfully with Yarra Yarra in that time.

His wins included:

1888 - Melbourne regatta, maiden eight (stroke)

1889 - Ballarat regatta, junior four (stroke) and Maiden four (stroke)

1890 - Melbourne regatta, junior pair (stroke)

The newspaper report below is interesting concerning his life and his continuing interest in the sport. The references to his participation in the Championship crews may be accurate. Yarra Yarra finished fourth in it's first attempt in the Champion Fours in 1888, and it won it's second Champion Eights in a row over. No crew details of this crew are available.
