Robert J Currie

Jeparit Rowing Club (Vic)

Robert James Currie was a State School teacher who was born at Charlton Victoria.

He enlisted for WWI on 27th May 1915 at the age of 23 years. He had served 2 years in the cadets at Bendigo High School. His service number was 6312.

Robert served in the ANZAC 6th Field Ambulance at Alexandria, Mudros and Lemnos before being transferred to France. He finished the war with the rank of Sergeant.

He returned to Australia on 9th March 1920.
