Mother of Andrew, David, Malcolm and Margaret, wife of Dick Coe daughter in law to Joe Coe Sister in law to Des Coe.

Margaret’s brother Gordon Nicholson a social member of Yarra Yarra Rowing Club and Herald photographer took many of the photos of winning crews in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Margaret rowed for Albert Park Ladies Rowing Club and sadly little is known of her activities there.

Vale Margaret Coe; sad news that Margaret senior passed away after a period of illness. Her long association with the club was recently honoured with the christening of the boat “The Coe Family”. Our condolences to her family.

The idea for this history originated from the Olympic Rowing and World Senior Rowing Championship histories written by Andrew Guerin and Margot Foster in 1991, 1992 & 1993 for the Australian team handbooks. Andrew Guerin developed and extended these histories to the current format in 2004 for publication in 2004 and then expanded the site.

Steve Roll has been an invaluable contributor to the website in locating errors and finding Christian names of rowers. His superb work is acknowledged.
