Appointed Lieutenant Army Service Corps 27 March 1896

Argus Friday 12 January 1900:-

Lieutenant A Christie of the Army Services Corps, who is proceeding to South Africa with the second contingent on Saturday, was entertained last evening at the Bull and Mouth hotel by the members of the Yarra Yarra Rowing Club of which he was a prominent member for many years. The chair was taken by Mr G Lupton, who presented Lieutenant Christie with a silver mounted flask on behalf of the members of the club, trusting that the recipient would be successful on the field of battle as he had been on the sliding seat. Lieutenant Christie responded briefly.

Service record compiled in 1961 at the request of his family and extracted from NAA records
