Robert (Bob) Burt

Yarra Yarra Rowing Club (VIC)

The Yarra Yarra Rowing Club records show Bob listed as an honorary member in 1956/57.

Bob Burt came to Melbourne with a group of from New Zealand rowers to watch the 1956 Olympic rowing at Ballarat. He had been a member of Whakatane (NZ) club so already had considerable experience before he rowed at Yarra at a few regattas.

With Harry Trebilcock, he was in a senior pair coxed by Len Robertson at the V R A regatta 10/11/1956.

This was the clubs first win in senior class for more than 50 years!

Bob returned to New Zealand and continued to row and scull
