Tim Burns

Torrens Rowing Club (SA)

Tim was a distinguished lightweight rower from Adelaide in the late 1980s, competing at a national level in the under 23 category in 1988 and 1989. He continued his interest in the sport as a coach before work commitments overtook his sporting endeavours.

1983 - Scotch College Adelaide Schoolboy Lightweight 4+, stroke 

1984 - SA Head of the River, Scotch College first eight, seven seat 

1984 - Hong Kong international school regatta, Schoolboy 8, seven seat and Schoolboy 4+, stroke 

1986 - Interstate Championships Penrith Cup, bow - 5th

1986 - National Championships Men's Under 23 lightweight four bow - 5th

1987 - National Championships Men's Under 23 lightweight four two seat - 5th

1987 - National Championships Men's Under 23 lightweight pair - did not make final

1987 - National Championships Men's  lightweight eight two seat - 5th

1988 - Interstate Championships Penrith Cup, bow - 6th

1988 - National Championships Men's Lightweight Under 23 pair stroke - 4th

1988 - National Championships Men's Lightweight Under 23 four two seat -1st

1988 - National Championships Men's Lightweight eight three seat -1st

1988 - Trans Tasman Under 23 series - 1st in lightweight four and 2nd in lightweight pair

1989 - Interstate Championships Penrith Cup - not contested due to weather

1989 - National Championships Men's Lightweight Under 23 pair bow -1st

1989 - National Championships Men's Lightweight Eight - not contested due to weather

1989 - Trans Tasman Under 23 Series - 1st in both the lightweight pair and four

1990 - National Championships Men's lightweight pair, stroke - non finalist 

1990 - National Championships Men's lightweight four, stroke - Fifth

1990 - National Championships Men's lightweight eight, 3 seat - 3rd

Tim retired from rowing to take up flying. At the date of compiling this profile, he is head of flying training at Cathay Pacific based in Hong Kong.
