Charles Bond

South Melbourne Rowing Club (VIC) now Albert Park South Melbourne Rowing Club (VIC)

Charles Bond was a member of  South Melbourne and served in WWI. He does not appear to have won any races prior to WWI.

The service record of a 'Charles Bond' from Middle Park appears to be the same person but it cannot be stated with absolute certainty.

This record indicates that Charles was a 23 year old single wood machinist when he enlisted in 1915. He served in the 10th Field Ambulance and was wounded twice and gassed. He survived and returned to Australia.
