The following obituary was published in the 1953-54 Sydney Rowing Club annual report.

Oscar joined Sydney Rowing Club about 1896 and had many successes, representing the State at Melbourne in 1903 [Editor - in fact 1899 Intercolonial Championships in Melbourne in which he raced in the four seat].

An accountant, he gave valuable service on the Committee for many years, prior to accepting a Vice-Presidency.
