1981 – Royal Canadian Henley, St Catharines CAN 

Controversy surrounded the selections under the new combined associations AARC Grading and Selection Committee. The dominant lightweight four from Victoria did not fulfil the selection criteria of racing pairs at the Victorian Championships.
