The Interstate Championships comprise an interesting range of perpetual trophies which provide insights into important people and events in the history of the sport. The trophies comprise:

• Women's single scull championship 
• Men's single scull championship race - Dr Stephen Hinchy OAM Memorial Trophy
• Women's pair oared championship - Sarah Tait Memorial Trophy
• Men's pair oared championship - Ted Bromley Trophy
• Women's four oared championship - Herald and Weekly Times Trophy
• Men's four oared championship - Bob Aitken Memorial Trophy
• Women's eight championship - Florence Eaton Trophy
• Women's lightweight single scull championship - Herald and Weekly Times Cup
• Men's lightweight four oared championship - Lucerne Cup
• Men's lightweight eight oared championship - Buckingham Centenary Trophy
• Men's under 23 eight championship - Australian Union of Old Oarsmen Trophy
• Men's under 19 single scull championship - Thomi Keller Memorial Trophy
• Men's under 19 double scull championship - Tim Hawkins Memorial Trophy
• Schoolgirl eight championship - Sydney Cup
• Schoolboy eight championship - Barrington Cup
• Adaptive rowers point score - Bob Blake Shield

The idea for this history originated from the Olympic Rowing and World Senior Rowing Championship histories written by Andrew Guerin and Margot Foster in 1991, 1992 & 1993 for the Australian team handbooks. Andrew Guerin developed and extended these histories to the current format in 2004 for publication in 2004 and then expanded the site.

Steve Roll has been an invaluable contributor to the website in locating errors and finding Christian names of rowers. His superb work is acknowledged.
