First Eight:

Hutchins School won the First Eight for the second year-in-a-row by 1¼ lengths over Launceston Church Grammar.

Hutchins School also won in the Fourth, Fifth and Sixths category.

St Virgil's College was swamped by passing launches and the crew "had to be fished from the water". They were not the only crew to be swamped. The winning Hutchins crew were also hit by launch washes returning to shore after their win.

There was a good race for the Head of the River between Hutchins and Grammar for much of the race until Hutchins pulled away to win well.
