1942 South Australian Schools' Head of the River

Saturday, 18 April – Torrens Lake:

The 1942 SA Head of the River was raced on the Torrens Lake, featuring the following events:

- First Eight

- Clinker Fours (Seconds)

- Open Tub Fours (Slides)

- Under 16 Tub Fours (Slides)

- Under 15 Tub Fours (Slides)


The Australasian noted that Prince Alfred College retained the Gosse Shield after winning the final of the First Eight by just a canvas over Adelaide High School. However, Adelaide High won all the remaining events.
