North Esk Rowing Club (TAS)

1950 - Interstate Men's Championship manager (TAS)

1951- Interstate Men's Championship manager (TAS)

The Launceston Examiner on 25th February 1950 recorded:

The appointment has been welcomed in northern rowing circles as Mr. Cooley has been an ardent worker for the sport for many years. He joined the North Esk club in 1935 and has rowed in junior, maiden and senior events during the years. In recent years he has been one of the northern delegates to the Tasmanian Rowing Council. He gained considerable prominence in the eyes of the council for his work as manager of the northern crew in the North and South fixture prior to the selection of the Tasmanian crew, which participated in the King's Cup at Murray Bridge, South Australia, last year.
