Australian Rowing History

1988 – Various US regattas and Henley Royal Regatta

In 1988, a development crew was selected to provide greater depth to senior Australian rowing after that Olympic year. The crew raced at several regattas in the US including their National Championships and the US Collegiate Regatta.

Following the Rowing Australia prescribed American tour, the crew undertook a private tour racing at Henley Royal Regatta, winning the Ladies Plate in Mercantile Rowing Club colours. Five of the squad hailed from that club and the others joined for this purpose.
